Methods to prevent outer warping of hexagonal steel pipe

The outer and inner surface of hexagonal steel pipe is a common problem in the steel pipe market at present. It is characterized by thin sections on the inner and outer surface of the outer circular inner hexagonal steel pipe, which are separated from the metal matrix, the tube wall is constantly thinning, the inclusions are gradually leaking out, and the skin is ectropion, which leads to the appearance of the warps defect.

What is the effect of outer round inner hexagon pipe with warped skin on the inner and outer surface? Firstly, the phenomenon of cracking occurs in the post-processing. Secondly, it will reduce the qualified rate of processed products, and the quality of products will be seriously damaged. Then affect the production efficiency, and even sales performance caused a certain loss.

And the root cause of this problem is that we do not care about a process – perforation. The generation of warping skin comes from the round steel in the process of perforation, the general steel pipe manufacturers use the top head with water eyes, and the water ejection from the top head directly contact the inner and outer surface of the high temperature steel pipe above 1200 ℃, the steel pipe encounters a large temperature difference, thus forming internal and external defects, namely warping skin or pits.

So, how to prevent the hexagonal pipe warping?

1. Alloy top

With the alloy head, the head has no water hole, although the cost is high, but the perforated capillary, no warping skin, pits, from the source to eliminate the possibility of hexagonal pipe cracking and poor surface finish in the late processing.

2.22m long perforated furnace

The 22m long perforation furnace is composed of preheating area, heating area and uniform temperature area. The perforation length is better than that of ordinary manufacturers. Due to the long perforation length, the round steel will be heated evenly and the phenomenon of uneven mixing heat will be eliminated.

3. Precise temperature control ±2℃

Automatic temperature control perforation furnace, accurate temperature control up to ±2℃, equipped with natural gas nozzle, facing different steel sizes, different specifications of steel pipe billet, control different temperature and time, each nozzle can be independently controlled.
